Solvents are liquid or gas materials that dissolve solid, liquid or gas materials to produce solution. Other solvents commonly used are organic (carbon-containing) chemicals.

These solvents called organic solvents. Solvents generally have low boiling point and easily evaporates or separated by distillation and leave dissolved substances behind of them.

Solutions generally include solvents more than solutes. Solvents are clear and colourless liquids and most of them have a characteristic odour.

Organic solvents are used in; printing inks, solvents (isopropyl alcohol, ethyl acetate, ethyl glycol), dry cleaning agent ( tetrachloride ethylene), paint thinner (toluene, turpentine, etc.), nail polish removers and glue solvents (acetone, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, etc.), stain remover (hexane), the detergent, perfume content (ethanol) and chemical synthesis.
